Upcoming Changes to NEC Phone Systems

Attention Businesses Utilizing NEC Phone Systems:

NEC, a trusted provider of phone systems, has announced significant changes to their business strategy. They will be phasing out on-premises phone systems, including the ones you might currently rely on.

This transition will occur gradually over the next few years, ultimately leading to a complete exit from the on-premises UC business. Some models, like the XN120 and SL1100, have already reached their end of life.

Here’s what you need to know:

The notice affects these 3 models of the NEC on premise phone systems:

  • NEC SL2100
  • NEC SV9100
  • NEC 3C

Key Dates to Remember:

End of New Deliveries (EON) – December 31, 2024: This marks the final date for placing orders for new products.

End of Shipment – March 31, 2025: NEC will cease shipping any hardware ordered before the EON date.

End of Service (EOS) – March 31, 2026: Support for technical assistance from NEC for the phone systems will cease.

End of Support for Software Assurance (EoSWA): Technical support for NEC software-related faults will no longer be available.
